About the charity:
Passion for a Better World by Matthew Granovetter
In the fall of 2005, my wife Pamela and I and our children moved to Cincinnati after 12 years in the land of Israel. The following year a young Brooklyn rabbi moved here as well to establish a Chabad Yeshiva High School. We soon became heads of the PTA as our youngest son entered the school.
For the next 18 years we have, with great passion, supported the school financially, as hosts to the children at our kitchen table and as advisors to the teachers and administration. The school is international, with teenagers from around the world. They study Torah from 8 in the morning until 10 at night, and in their 'spare' time work with the community spiritually and physically. They are literally taught to be good people and many grow up to be leaders and counselors wherever they settle. We have seen this with our own eyes.
This year the school has expanded with a second ninth grade and we are passionately dedicated to continue in our parental guiding roles.
Three years ago Rabbi Avtzon, the dean, asked us to create an annual bridge tournament online to promote the school and fundraise. It was so successful that the ACBL Monthly Bulletin published a feature story about it.
This year is our third annual event. It's not only a bridge game -- though that's certainly a fun part for the donors -- but it's an annual event that bridges the gap between the secular and spiritual, supporting the future of a better world. With today's crazy climate, we need this more than ever. So we ask all our friends to sign up to play, but more importantly, to donate to this wonderful and vital human cause.
Sincerely,
Matthew Granovetter
